Why does the world need more women in C-suite roles?

Today, we talk a lot about equality in every field—but when it comes to top leadership, there's still work to do. So why does the world need more women in C-suite roles? The answer goes beyond fairness; it’s about building stronger, more inclusive, and more successful organizations.

What are C-suite roles?

C-suits roles are the top leadership positions in a company. Their job title usually starts with the letter 'C' like CEO (Chief Executive Officer) (Chief Financial Officer), and COO (Chief Operating Officer).

Benefits of having women in C-suite roles

Women bring qualities that can enhance the organization or company's success. Research over the years shows that female leaders often lead with more empathy, build stronger connections, and are more inclusive.

Women Gaining Ground in Leadership, But Men Still Lead at the Top

Since 2016, more women have been moving into senior leadership roles in many industries. The biggest gains have been in tech, information, and media, according to the World Economic Forum’s 2023 Gender Gap report. In these fields, the number of women in director roles grew from 30.8% in 2016 to 33.2% in 2022. However, men still hold most of the top positions, with 71.7% of VP roles and 74.6% of C-suite jobs.
